Keurboom is one of 10 Interim Homes run by CANSA in the main metropolitan centres to provide out-of-town patients with a home away from home while they are accessing treatment. The homes provide accommodation, healthy and nourishing meals and transport to and from treatment centres for the duration of their stay, which can be between eight to 12 weeks, going home on weekends.
Interim Homes also provide emotional and spiritual support, health care and recreation. Patients are able to enjoy the company of other people in similar situations in calm, caring atmosphere. Keurboom is located in Belgravia, Johannesburg in a beautiful memorial house donated to CANSA in 1975 by the Johannesburg East Rotary Association.
